Matu Luxe was born from a simple conviction: that the Eastern Himalayas deserved a home worthy of them.
Set deep in the Dibang Valley, one of the last true wildernesses left on Earth, Matu began not as a resort, but as an idea passed between people who had spent a lifetime in these mountains. Guides, conservationists, and the Idu Mishmi families who have called this valley home for generations. Together, they imagined a place where the raw, untamed drama of the Himalayas could be experienced without compromise, where a traveller could wake to birdsong in a treehouse canopy, cross a glass bridge suspended above a roaring gorge by afternoon, and fall asleep beneath a dome of stars by night, all without surrendering a single degree of comfort.
That idea is Matu today.
